After the exam

  • Plan for something fun or rewarding after the exam, such as eating out, meeting a friend or watching a film, so that you have something to look forward to.
  • It’s common for worry or anxiety to linger for a while after the exam. For some, it can last all day or come and go for several days. It can be reassuring to remind yourself in an empathetic way of what the exam means to you, why you become worried or anxious, and that you have done all you can. You may have to do this many times.
  • Try to allow yourself to have these feelings and let them come and go. Note when your thoughts become negative so that you can focus on something that feels more meaningful to you instead.
